Moving forward

Well I'm glad to announce this was great week! I learn a lot and I also manage to get a lot done!

First things first. The mini golf. I managed to develop the skills that I told Miss Amy at the beginning of this trimester that I will never do. I was able to work collaboratively with other, delegate and be completely calm about an event (my mom was scared as well of a few of my friends to see how calm I was!). Well for the mini golf I planned it with my mentor for the event, Jamie. We both worked together to plan along with Tim, the owner, to make this event, so I can't take the credit because without them this wouldn't have been possible. I was able to delegate because Tim and Kim where the ones who were at the entrance dealing with the money. The event worked pretty much on it's own, we just need the people to come. Also I let the yearbook club be incharge of how to raise money for is, because the funds of the mini golf were going to the Scholarship fund. Then someone suggested to ask Baulas for a percentage and we would tell people to go to Baulas before or after playing mini golf. Koral went and spoke with them and they agreed to give 5%. This week she will talk to them again to see the amount that would go for us and also to give them the information of the transfer. Also Selene and Koral where taking pictures and so was Camille. I was proud of my team for helping out, taking initiative and not having me on top of this. It's a slow process but every time I like my team more and more <3 nbsp="" p="">
It was raining unfortunately, but people still went. I was in tamarindo from 6-8pm and there were 3 big rounds of people going to play. There were students from pre-K with their parents to high school students with their parents (I did a round against my mom because my brother went of to play with his friends, and she ended up winning 71-92! )

CAS

Well I sent Mr. Abel and Miss Kerry and email with the information of my CAS project and asked them if they could send it in a separate email to all the parents to spread the word out because it will happen this coming Saturday. I also made some ads, I didn't like the background color as much but I wanted them to be simple and stand out that way people will want to read it. Also I will be printing some to put to the bulletin board! This time it will be in Season, next time will happen next trimester and I will make sure to plan everything during vacation that way I will come prepared in January and start planning big things like choosing a student, calculating how much money will be needed, look for a place to stay for the student before and after camp and look for plane tickets.

I'm really excited for Saturday, Seasons is delicious and my family is looking forward to go and I hope other La Paz families are as well!

  1. Camila, What a busy week for you. Getting all your events done before everyone leaves for break! Good job. I am excited to hear that you are delegating and finding peace with working with others! I knew you would be great at it!
How was the event at Season's? We had a wonderful time on Friday night and a very good dinner. Shlomy is a great supporter of La Paz and I am glad that you chose his restaurant!
What worked? What, if anything, would you have done differently? Do you have pictures? Did you get feedback from anyone at dinner? Did you speak and explain the camp at dinner? Let me know!
