Well I'm glad to announce this was great week! I learn a lot and I also manage to get a lot done!
First things first. The mini golf. I managed to develop the skills that I told Miss Amy at the beginning of this trimester that I will never do. I was able to work collaboratively with other, delegate and be completely calm about an event (my mom was scared as well of a few of my friends to see how calm I was!). Well for the mini golf I planned it with my mentor for the event, Jamie. We both worked together to plan along with Tim, the owner, to make this event, so I can't take the credit because without them this wouldn't have been possible. I was able to delegate because Tim and Kim where the ones who were at the entrance dealing with the money. The event worked pretty much on it's own, we just need the people to come. Also I let the yearbook club be incharge of how to raise money for is, because the funds of the mini golf were going to the Scholarship fund. Then someone suggested to ask Baulas for a percentage and we would tell people to go to Baulas before or after playing mini golf. Koral went and spoke with them and they agreed to give 5%. This week she will talk to them again to see the amount that would go for us and also to give them the information of the transfer. Also Selene and Koral where taking pictures and so was Camille. I was proud of my team for helping out, taking initiative and not having me on top of this. It's a slow process but every time I like my team more and more <3 nbsp="" p="">
It was raining unfortunately, but people still went. I was in tamarindo from 6-8pm and there were 3 big rounds of people going to play. There were students from pre-K with their parents to high school students with their parents (I did a round against my mom because my brother went of to play with his friends, and she ended up winning 71-92! )

CAS
Well I sent Mr. Abel and Miss Kerry and email with the information of my CAS project and asked them if they could send it in a separate email to all the parents to spread the word out because it will happen this coming Saturday. I also made some ads, I didn't like the background color as much but I wanted them to be simple and stand out that way people will want to read it. Also I will be printing some to put to the bulletin board! This time it will be in Season, next time will happen next trimester and I will make sure to plan everything during vacation that way I will come prepared in January and start planning big things like choosing a student, calculating how much money will be needed, look for a place to stay for the student before and after camp and look for plane tickets.
I'm really excited for Saturday, Seasons is delicious and my family is looking forward to go and I hope other La Paz families are as well!

Prodcutive week!
I'm soo excited! This week has gone really well!
I email the parents and they are ALL interested in helping! I choose Seasons to be the first place of the dinner next week because it's in Tamarindo I felt that it was a good place to start. I just need to coordinate a few last details with Shlomy so I can make the flyer next week and it can go as a separate email on Monday of next week.
I also need to come up with a catching name, I'm really bad at this, for the dinners. I will definitely will have many dinners next trimester. I feel really frustrated because I didn't do this before! The parents are soo nice and willing to help, I could have done at least 2 dinners already! Anyways I have to catch up quickly and get things done because I can only go forward now.
Tomorrow is the mini golf event and I'm really relax because it will be an event that I will not be leading, it will happen on itself and I will actually be able to enjoy it! My family and I have a bet of who will be the winner, my brother or me. Also I hope a lot of people go to Baulas so the yearbook gets some funds!
More details at the end of the week!

Catching up
Well I haven't really been focusing on CAS as much as I would like to but this week I'm catching up in all the thing that I have missed. I have realized that I need to organize my time better and I can't really help Tanya with the Beach socials because I have a lot going on. However I feel like the best way to get the fund that I need for my CAS project I need to have a large event that fundraises a lot of money in one day. That will require a lot of time, but I think that it is worth it. Before It seems like I don't do anything during this trimester, I will definitely plan a dinner in two weeks. I need to send out a couple of email asking the different restaurants to see how wants to help out.
From my original plan this is what I have done and not done:
October
21st-27th: This week was MUN so I did not have time to work on CAS
28th-3rd: I sent out an email to Mr. Abel asking for information of business from La Paz and he told me to use the La Paz directory from the Website. I was going to do the presentation in morning meeting but there was no time on day and on Thursday IB class went to UCR to do research for our EE. I felt a little lost this week because I knew I had many things to do and to start working on but I just felt overwhelmed and that stopped me from doing several things.
Also it was Halloween week and I wanted to have fun. I did volunteer hours during the Halloween event of the school. I had a face painting station with Natasha (a parent), it was really fun I like doing face painting but I felt that I was out of practice. It was good, the table was always full and I barely had the chance to eat, I liked it because most kids wanted me to draw simple things expect this girl who wanted a princess on her cheek, which ended up looking like a triangle with a crown... It was a different experience because I felt that this year many students from high school helped with the event rather than participate in it.
November:
4th-11th: This week I actually did a few things:

November:
4th-11th: This week I actually did a few things:
- made flyer for mini golf event
- filled out risk management for mini golf event (it was really hard)
- contacted organizers and counselors from camp and they are all willing to help however they can.
- re-did the powerpoint presentation for morning meeting
- wrote the letter to send to restaurants * I will send the letters next week because the only restaurant that appears in the Directory is Seasons, but I know there are a lot more.
- Told Tanya I couldn't help with Beach social because I had many things going on.
The letter goes like this:
Dear (insert name of contact/restuarant)
My name is Camila Arguedas and I'm currently a 11th grade IB student at La Paz. As part of the curriculum each student creates their own project based on their passion, for a class called CAS (creative, active, service). My project for this school year is to fundraise money to send at least one student from the 10th grade class to attend a week long camp in Pennsylvania at Allegheny College.
Last school year I was able to attend along with another student, Selene; we were able to learn about the importance of water qualities in ecosystems and we were lucky to bring back science equipment that we used in camp, for the school to have. We also establish connections with students from the college who are interested in coming to Costa Rica and work with the school.
The camp is way to establish connections and enrich the knowledge of the students. My goal is to create a scholarship fund for the students so that each year at least 1 or two students from La Paz attend the college. I want to fundraise money for my project a different way, more indirect.
My idea is to have every month or twice a month dinner nights in different restaurants owned by La Paz families, and create alliances with the restaurants that want to join. The idea of the dinner night is that it will be encourage to La Paz families to go to a specific restaurant on a chosen date and a small percentage of the proceeds will go to help the project. It will be a win win situation because the restaurants will be known more by La Paz families and funds will be collected for the project.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in helping or have any questions.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
